5 Things To See And Do In New York City

New York City is aptly nicknamed the city that never sleeps. Situated on the eastern coast of the United States, it bustles with activity at every hour of the day and night. By daylight, you can tour the city taking in its pristine natural beauty and architectural wonders while by night you can taste its vibrant nightlife under the colorful, flashy lights. There is an endless list of things to see and do. No wonder travel buffs choose to return to the city time and again.
We've rounded up the 5 places in New York City that present the culture, energy and spirit of the city on a single platter in a matter of moments.
1. The Empire State Building:
A visit to the Big Apple is incomplete without a visit to the Empire State Building. With 102 storeys, it was acclaimed as the world's tallest skyscraper until the construction of the World Trade Centre in 1973. It is a specimen of the art deco style, a dominant architectural style during World War II. It is a symbol of modernity and ambition. Millions of tourists flock to the Empire State Building each year for a bird-s eye view of the New York City from the building's observatory decks.
2. The Statue of Liberty:
Another stop you must make is the Statue of Liberty instituted on the New York Harbor in 1886. This world-renowned masterpiece was a gift from France marking the friendship between the two countries following the American Revolution. You can get a glimpse of this sculpture from Battery Park, but if you want to see it up close and personal, you can take the Staten Island ferry ride to Liberty Island. Buy your tickets in advance to avoid last minute disappointments. The Statue of Liberty is a true gleaming beacon by night.
3. Central Park:
Spread over a sprawling 843 acres of land, Central Park is not huge but massive. It is a man-made park offering the same diversity characteristic to nature. There are rolling fields, water bodies and walking trails. Several amusements activities such as horse-carriage rides, ice-skating (in winter), rock-climbing, music, dance and drama (in summer) are organized within the park premises. There are tranquil spots where you can spend quality time with your spouse and family.
4. Times Square:
It is the busiest place in New York City. Not only this, you're likely to bump into someone you know at every corner. Times Square is well-defined by its large digital billboards, the flashy lights that often make it hard to distinguish night from day, the shops and mobile art and jewelry counters lining the bordering the streets. The Broadway Theatre District also makes Time Square a major entertainment hub. Everyday people come in search of discounted and cheap Broadway tickets. At Times Square you can also stop by at Madame Tussaud's Museum and grab a bite at one of the many eateries there.
5. 9/11 Memorial Museum:
The 9/11 Memorial Museum is a must-visit because it tells the story of one of America's deepest scars. The Museum was opened to the public a day after its 10th anniversary in September 2011. It is located at the World Trade Centre site. The twin pools have come to replace the twin towers that were destroyed during the bombing attacks in 2001. The names of the people who lost their lives in the attack are inscribed around the pools in bronze.

What to See in Melbourne

Melbourne is a city that knows how to live, offering a choice of high-end cuisine to energetic rock gigs, plays, festivals and sporting events. It is the second most populous city in Australia and is the capital city of the Victoria state, but despite being a city, Melbourne still offers a host of parks, gardens and historic architecture to visitors. With so much to see, holidaymakers and travellers often don't get to see all of the attractions, but here we take a look at the must-see ones in and around Melbourne.

Eureka Skydeck 88
Nothing like you would have seen before, Melbourne's Eureka Skydeck 88 offers jaw dropping views from the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere. Two lifts thrust visitors to level 88 in under an incredible 40 seconds, and only Skydeck 88 can take you to "The Edge", a glass tube that slides out from the building with you inside! The building not only offers spectacular views to visitors; they can also discover a number of activities and facts about the city and the building. Located in the Southbank region of the city, visitors will be awed by the phenomenal views of Melbourne and beyond.
Great Ocean Road
When visiting Melbourne you have to go to the Great Ocean Road, which is a popular destination for tourists and travellers. It is an Australian National Heritage listed site and is a 150 mile stretch of road along the dramatic South Eastern Coast of Australia. The road is dedicated to soldiers killed during World War I and is the world's largest war memorial.
Werribee Open Range Zoo
The Werribee Open Range Zoo is just 30 minutes away from Melbourne's city centre. It offers a taste of Africa and visitors will be treated to a huge array of animals living on the 225 hectares of open savannah. The resort has a walking trail that allows sightseers to come face-to-face with gorillas, lions, monkeys, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, rhinos and hippos. The attraction also offers visitors a safari tour and wild encounters, where tourists can feed and touch animals.
Melbourne Cricket Ground
If you are a keen sportsperson then a trip to Melbourne would not be complete without visiting the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). It is the largest, oldest and most popular sporting venue in Australia and often hosts international cricket matches, Australian Football League games and has previously been the venue for the 1956 Olympic Games and 2006 Commonwealth Games. You should also keep an eye out for any upcoming events at the MCG as it often hosts blockbuster music concerts.

Be a Tourist in the Beautiful City of Vancouver

Having lived in the surrounding communities of Vancouver all my life, I have also played tourist in this city that so many wish they could visit. Many people never visit the attractions of their own hometowns preferring instead to travel to faraway places.
Vancouver has many lovely places to visit. The following are only some of them:
Stanley Park - at 125 years old is the third largest park in North America. It has an 8.8 km seawall where people bike, skate and jog. The park is over 1,000 acres of serenity and beauty with a view of the ocean, many old trees and multiple gardens. Also in the park is a popular train, a replica of a CPR train from the late 1880's. It winds its way 2 km over trestles and through tunnels and forests. During Halloween season it becomes a ghost train and at Christmas it is specially decorated for the season with thousands of lights. At the Aquarium, also in the park, there are many different exhibits. Particularly interesting are the jellyfish, and beluga and dolphin shows. There are over 50,000 varieties of species as well as many colourful butterflies for your enjoyment.
Science World - is a learning experience. Each visit is different and a day is hardly long enough to see everything. One time on a visit, dinosaur's were featured and another time, it was the science of the human body. They have many shows and exhibits making Science World a great place for children and adults alike to visit.
Capilano Canyon Suspension Bridge - built in 1889 gives access for walks through the surrounding rainforest. There is also a cliff walk, and a tree top adventure ideal for viewing 1,300 year old old-growth Douglas Firs. It is a great place to visit even if you are like me and want to enjoy the experience without the necessity of looking down into the great abyss below.
UBC Botanical Garden - is home to the Greenheart Canopy Walkway, a 1,010 foot aerial trail system offering a view of the natural beauty of the west coast forest. Many of these trees are over a century old. There is also the Nitobe Memorial Garden, an alpine garden and the Asian garden. We have been there in late Spring and early Summer but every season is beautiful.
Canada Place - home of the unique sails, hosts many events. We recently attended 'Fly Over Canada' which was a wonderful experience of soaring over our country with the breeze in our face as well as mists from Niagara Falls. From Canada Place you can look out over the water and see Stanley Park.
H.R. MacMillan Space Center (the Planetarium) - has exhibits, activities and various shows. It is very educational and is interesting for adults as well as the children in your family. Most of us who live in and near a city will never see the real beauty of the stars in the sky, the milky way or any part of the solar system. A visit here will show you what it's like.
Granville Island - is not only a public market with fresh produce but is also home to galleries, childrens' shops, jewelery stores, pottery, a brewing company and restaurants where you can sit and savor the beautiful views of the water and enjoy a great meal.
Gastown - is Vancouver's oldest area, the original city. It has retained its historic atmosphere with cobbled streets, original buildings and old-style courtyards with shops and restaurants. There are tourist shops and a statue of 'Gassy' Jack Deighton who arrived in Vancouver in 1867 and opened the area's first saloon. There is also an old steam clock which produces a Westminster-type chime to signal the time of day.
Grouse Mountain - in North Vancouver has a skyride, a zipline, paragliding, the popular grouse grind used by hikers and golfing on top of the mountain. For those more inclined to enjoy the mountain in a less exuberant manner, there is the gondola ride to the peak for dinner where you can overlook the skyline of Vancouver with its beautiful sunsets and mountain vistas.
The Seabus to Lonsdale Quay Public Market - where you can purchase fresh produce at the market as well as assorted other foods. Sitting at tables provided for an impromptu lunch, you can admire the city of Vancouver and contemplate looking further at flower arrangements, arts and crafts, jewelery or sweets. The Seabus is an adventure in itself.
Even as a resident of one of Vancouver's suburbs, and one who has been to these attractions often, I can still appreciate all that Vancouver has to offer. Any one of them make for a great day of entertainment.

Nashville is a big Tennessee city located in the north-central area. This aspect, as well as a variety of other attractions in the city has made Nashville attractive to thousands of tourists irrespective of their sexual orientation. With music at the heart of the city, Nashville has attracted creative personalities and vibe that have made it a popular gay-friendly destination for many years. In addition, the city has always cherished arts, which has been a significant pulling factor for GLBT community to join its creative industry. As a result, the gay community in Nashville is much stronger than you may expect of a large Southern city.
In fact, there is a GLBT Chamber of Commerce, as well as one of the biggest GLBT bookstores in the Southern area. As the gay music city of choice, there are a variety of places that gay couples can enjoy themselves, ranging from the concentrated huddle of gay nightlife in Hillsboro, East Nashville and Church Street, to other welcoming joints around the entire city in North Nashville, West Nashville and South Nashville.
The gay entertainment borough in Nashville has been expanding over the years and currently features a number of gay restaurants, clubs, dance halls and sex clubs between the 12th and 22nd avenues on Church Street. These chic spots provide classy and lively entertainment. Blue Gene's, for instance, is an attractive bar for mixed crowds due to its laid-back and neighborhood bar feel. This bar draws both men and women especially in the early evenings.
A few doors down Church Street is Tribe, which is among the most popular gay bars in the city. It has a sizeable dance floor, in addition to its open air deck and lounge that has lots of comfy chairs to provide a hip relaxing spot after a long day. Tribe provides a rather casual ambiance compared to other late-night clubs, though the music is loud enough to interrupt conversations. You can also enjoy watching a game of your favorite football team or music video mixes on the flat-screen televisions mounted on the walls. In addition to the full bar, they serve a full menu and even provide private rooms for personal celebrations.
Adjacent to Tribe is Red. This is a full restaurant that is popular for its incredible brunch menu. If you enjoy high-energy atmospheres, Play, a massive dance club is just next door. It draws large crowds especially on the weekends.

Since then, it has grown to accommodate the entire community, providing multiple entertainment features including a dance floor, live music, trivia music, poker competitions, karaoke and an upstairs lounge where you can play darts and video games. The Lipstick Lounge requires casual wear, and also provides a casual ambiance as your enjoy their signature cocktails.
Across the street you will find Mad Donna's restaurant and lounge. Here you can enjoy creative drinks, an eclectic menu and live music. If you are available on Tuesday night, you can attend the drag bingo.
South Nashville has numerous neighborhood bars for a laid-back and casual night where you get to dress as you like. You can visit Trax, a modest dive bar that provides cheap drinks, in addition to the pool table, darts and its great jukebox. You can also go to Stirrup, which is open every day to enjoy its large private deck or game room. Purple Heys' has a casual and relaxed ambiance that provides casual fun and a nightclub scene.
While in Nashville, you should make sure to visit the Dark Horse Theatre, which is an autonomous theatre that has served the alternative and gay-crowd for over 15 years. It manly features drag plays that are produced by one of Nashville's gay theatre companies, Eggplant Faerie Players. They also schedule live music, classical theatre, films, dance, multimedia shows and concerts. You can also catch drag shows and live bands at the Play Dance Bar, which is a popular fun-time club for drinking and dancing that holds several special events in a month. You can also experience the Nashville honky tonks found along Lower Broadway in places like Legends Corner and Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.
You will discover that Nashville is among the most progressive, dynamic and gay-friendly communities in the South, propped by an art and music culture that makes it a unique and genuine gay music city.

The Mystical Village of Bellapais

Standing in a protected position and appearing almost as if glued to the side of the Kyrenia mountain range, the façade of Bellapais Abbey is the distant view that first fascinates visitors and attracts them to explore this fascinating and ancient Cypriot village. Now lying in the Turkish part of the island, Northern Cyprus, Bellapais has an interesting history, but it is the atmosphere of the place that keeps bringing people back - and not just the atmosphere in the abbey, but the entire village.
Surprisingly little is known of its early history, but it is likely that the site of the abbey was first occupied and that the village grew around this. It has been suggested that the first construction might have dated back to the seventh or eighth century, however, the first documented occupation and building on the site was by religious leaders who had fled from Jerusalem around the end of the twelfth century. The site offered many benefits to them. If was difficult to reach and almost impossible to do so unseen, so was relatively easy to protect. Further, its mountainside location guaranteed a reasonable supply of water and some respite from the hottest weather. Originally called Abbaye de la Belle Paix (the abbey of peace), this gradually became shortened to the current form.
Just like Cyprus as a whole, Bellapais went through many changes under many rulers over the centuries. Although not infrequently plundered - often just for building materials - the Abbey today is still in a remarkable state of preservation and still forms the heart of the village. In fact, it is now used as a setting for art exhibitions and concerts, with the annual Bellapais Music Festival attracting performers from around the world. However, anyone who visits the abbey should spend a little time also wandering through the tiny surrounding streets. Meandering in seemingly every direction, each twist and turn brings new views of ancient buildings and occasional glimpses of the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean. Most of the property here remains residential, though in the small square and the area around the abbey, there are a number of restaurants and small shops.
Apart from the abbey, Bellapais is probably best known for being the home for a while of the author Lawrence Durrell, and the home seemingly for ever of what is known as 'the Tree of Idleness'. Durrell bought a home in one of the steep back streets, and it remains there to this day. He wrote affectionately and amusingly of his time here in the novel Bitter Lemons of Cyprus, and the Tree of Idleness is mentioned many times. The tree itself has the magical property that anyone who sits and drinks under its boughs will be "forever consumed with idleness". The tree also has the magical property that nobody is actually certain of its location and as there are two trees that each claim to be the genuine article, at least two restaurants have areas where you should presumably sit only if you are planning on retiring!
Today, despite being somewhat 'touristy', Bellapais retains a quite remarkable atmosphere. The abbey seems to exude a feeling of peace and tranquillity that is almost physical and that seems to spread out into its surroundings. Even in the restaurants and shops, there is the sense that life is something to be savoured and not rushed and a meal here in the evening can be quite spectacular, as the abbey is floodlit at night and forms a stunning backdrop to a leisurely dining experience.
There are many reasons to choose a holiday in Northern Cyprus, but a visit to Bellapais should definitely not be missed if you do.
For the very best of North Cyprus, do what I do and book through Cyprus Paradise!

Attractions For Tourist In Marylebone

Marylebone, barely one by two kilometers in size, is home to a sufficient number of tourist attractions to keep one busy for several days. Only a few will be highlighted here, but there are many others to delight just about everyone's preference of tourist attractions.
At the northwest corner of Marylebone, just outside the traditional limits of the village proper, but still well worth the effort, is Little Venice, a system of waterways reminiscent of the famous Italian city on the Adriatic Sea. It can in no wise be mistaken for the Italian city by the architecture, but it is a delightful series of waterways first coined "Little Venice" by poet, Robert Browning. At the union of Regents Canal and the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal there is a small island on which Browning once planted willows. On the south shore of Browning's Pond is the boat launch of Little Venice. At the north side of the pond is the Puppet Theatre Barge, offering marionette shows. Shops and restaurants line the canals.
In the heart of Marylebone in Manchester Square is the gathering of 25 galleries comprising the Wallace Collection in Hertford House, which was once the home of The Marquesses of Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace. Collected there are eighteenth and nineteenth century paintings, sculpture, furniture, porcelain, silver and goldsmith work and armoury.
Just east a few blocks from the Wallace Collection is Wigmore Hall, the best venue for classical chamber and soloist music in London. The building is a beautiful marble and alabaster structure containing an intimate concert hall more accommodating to this style of live music performance. There are numerous events, including lectures, scheduled. Occasionally, there may be a couple of events scheduled on a single day.
Northeast of Marylebone in Regents Park is the Zoological Society of London (ZSL London Zoo), a world landmark zoo featuring over 12,000 animals in its collection. These animals receive some of the best care available for captive animals. Visitors to the zoo also have some of the best opportunities to meet and greet animals in enclosures closely matching their natural habitats. Interaction with zoo-keepers and some of the animals represents some of the best time spent at the zoo. Plan ahead to see what activities are scheduled throughout the year, such as the annual animal weigh-in, when virtually every animal in the zoo is weighed to be certain their diet is maintaining them properly.
Of course, Marylebone, as a living, working village, is full of shops and restaurants not necessarily geared to tourism but which are an integral part of the living, working village available to tourists to take a slice of life in Marylebone. There are over 120 restaurants in Marylebone, offering meals from around the world. There are more shops for personal apparel, gifts, memorabilia, home decor, etc.
For the tourist wanting to experience a small village atmosphere in the heart of greater London, Marylebone is one of the best examples of such a functioning village.

7 Great Landmarks To Visit in London

In the United Kingdom's capital city there is no shortage of things to do and see. Out of the land of the Britain's comes thousands of years of history, innovation, fairy tales, and entertainment that has influenced much of the world for centuries. London can be both a gritty urban landscape as well as the fabled metropolis of kings and queens. Here is a look at some of the best stops to make on your next trip to London.

Westminster Abbey
An iconic site in London with a long, and sometimes bloody history, the Westminster Abbey is an important stop in London. This medieval church is the burial site of many of history's kings, queens, and other historic figures, including Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots, and the famous poet Geoffrey Chaucer. It has seen the coronation of kings and was the place where Prince William and Kate Middleton were married in 2011. As with most iconic sites, the crowds flock to the abbey so arrive early and prepared to wait in line.
Buckingham Palace
Royalty and Britain go hand in hand so a stop off at the home of the Windsor family is essential to any trip to London. In the summer you can view the stately, royal rooms and see how the King and Queen of England live. The ornate carvings and gilded moldings give you a glimpse of the opulence of the Royal family living quarters. You can view the Throne room or the Royal Ballroom and view the history that these rooms have held for many generations of lords and ladies. Be sure to not miss the Changing of the Guard that is one of the most popular shows to catch as the old and new guards transfer positions in a fascinating procession.
St. James Palace and Clarence House
If you are still in the mood to soak up some Royalty, a visit to both the St. James Palace and the Clarence House will ease you appetite. The Clarence House was once the home of the Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mothers for many years and is now currently the home of the Prince of Wales, Camilla, and Prince Harry. There home is only available for tours at certain times to be sure to purchase tickets in advance.
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
While the actual theatre that showcased Shakespeare's legendary plays burned down in 1613, this theatre is a fantastic replica. Shakespeare's plays continue to permeate movies, plays, theatre, literature, and even vernacular hundreds of years after his death. Visiting the place where history was so eloquently re-enacted for the masses is certainly a must-see. The theatre was reconstructed to be as authentic as possible, even using original building techniques and materials. You can even still view plays here as well. Just be aware that the theatre is open-air, meaning there is no roof so should a rain shower come through, you will want to be prepared.
Tower of London
This tower has been a part of the iconic landscape of the London for centuries. The halls here are filled with history and the stories of the princes and princesses who resided here. You can explore the dark side of history here as well as many were put to death or killed on the cobblestones of the Tower of London. There is the Medieval Palace and the Bloody Tower where prisoners and even princes were killed. The tower remains a very popular tourist attraction so you should expect to encounter crowds so purchasing tickets in advance will save you time in line. You can even jewels the royal Crown Jewels here as well. Henry VIII in the nearby Tower Green beheaded Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard as well. Nearly every hallway and staircase seems to have a story so a trip here will give you an afternoon of haunting fun.
London Zoo
Whether you plan on bringing your children with you to London or not, a stop off at the London Zoo is a great way to spend the afternoon. First opened in 1828, the zoo has some great attractions including a completely self-sustaining, contained ecosystem that includes plants, animals, and insects. There is a one of kind gorilla museum as well as a chance to view rainforest creatures in a nighttime environment. There is also fantastic penguin and big cat enclosures amongst many others. A worthwhile stop off to relax a little with some wildlife and learn about conservation efforts.
Big Ben
The great bell, clock tower, known as the Elizabeth Tower, is a prominent symbol of the London cityscape. The palace is the location of the United Kingdom's parliament and is generally not open to tourist though it is still visited by millions every year looking for a perfect photo backdrop.
Bond Street
If you are just looking for a casual stroll take the tube (the London subway) to Bond Street. This street has world-class shopping opportunities and was the place where Roosevelt sat with Churchill during WWII. You'll find the famous auction house Sotheby's as well as many other high-end shopping boutiques. Nearby are great art galleries and shops as well.

A Taste Of Culture: The Local Restaurants Of Honduras

Book door to door airport transfers with World-Airport-Transfer.com
In the larger Honduran cities such as Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula or La Ceiba American fast food restaurants abound, but don't expect to find everything you're accustomed to in Phoenix or Chicago. Pizza in the American chains tastes much the same but you will also find sides of tortilla soup, yuca and the ubiquitous Ensalada de Repollo, shredded cabbage with vinegar. Hamburgers are reasonably good but have a decidedly Latin flavor seasoned for local tastes.
For the true experience of Honduran gastronomical culture it pays to seek out the smaller comidores, preferably outside the city. While travelling from Santa Barbara to Intibucá and being particularly thirsty, we stopped at a little house beside the Rio Zacapa displaying a sign claiming to have the coldest beer in Honduras. Honduran beer is particularly good, and "the coldest" is even better! The lady proprietor made us comfortable in chairs around a table on the front porch, and we were not disappointed with the temperature of the beer. A menu hand-written on a chalkboard above the door listed a half dozen items from which we chose chicken tacos. Honduran tacos are rolled in a flour tortilla filled with meat, fine Honduran cheese, chiles and seasonings, baked or fried and covered with a tomato salsa. They very much resemble what Americans think of as an "enchilada".
Many tiny restaurants have no menu. They serve whatever the Señora happened to cook that day. All have bottled water and soda to be opened at the table, and most have beer, as we experienced in another little pueblo in northern Francisco Morazán. The little eatery had cobblestone floors, a door and walls but one half was open to the sky to allow natural lighting. It was really quite attractive even with the occasional dog wandering in to politely wait for a bone, only to be shooed out by the waitress. On this occasion they had pork chops, fresh home made corn tortillas, refried red beans and cabbage salad. The food was exceptional and the price unbelievably reasonable.
Many roadside shops specialize in only one or two items. Maybe some incredibly strong but remarkably un-bitter coffee and rosquillas or quesadillas. Rosquillas look like thin doughnuts but are made from corn and Honduran cheese and are not sweet. Quesadillas usually look like doughnuts also, fatter than rosquillas and slightly sweet with cinnamon flavor. A real treat when in season are fritas de elote, green corn cut from the cob and ground by hand into a batter and cooked on a grill like pancakes. Most vendors sprinkle them with powdered sugar or add honey, but just the natural taste of the corn is wonderful!
Customized and unforgettable culinary tours in AsiaAnother of the many treats in a lot of specialized restaurants, large and small, are pupusas. Though actually of Salvadoran origin they are wildly popular among Hondurans. These are like a thick corn pancake filled with meat, cheese, beans, chicharrónes, chorizo, chiles and/or whatever may sound good to the cook. Anyone visiting without having tried pupusas and the local chorizo has not really experienced Honduras!
Many visitors to Honduras cling to the restaurants in the major hotels, malls or American fast food chains because of a largely unfounded fear of local food and drink. Most restaurants in the larger cities are quite safe, and in the tiny local eateries those who avoid drinks with ice, drink only bottled water, soda and beer are not at all in danger. With a little vigilance and forethought these tiny places can be a quite rewarding cultural experience.

Lavers Hill on the Great Ocean Road

Lavers Hill is the highest point on the Great Ocean Road. It is a charming, small town with a number of cafes, take aways and a local tavern. These prove to be very popular stops with tourists as there is quite a drive to get there. If you are coming from Apollo Bay it will take about 45 minutes and if you are coming from the 12 Apostles it will take approximately the same amount of time.
Lavers Hill is a destination in its own right as it is very central to all the area's major attractions. The closest is Melba Gully, named after our great operatic singer, Dame Nellie Melba. This is a beautiful area which was once private property but was handed over to Parks so as to allow access to the public. A wonderful, generous gesture that now allows everyone to experience this magical oasis. Melba Gully is just a few minutes drive west of Lavers Hill. It's a very easy walk enabling tourists to see the glories of a temperate rainforest. This is the best place in the vicinity to see Gloworms in the evening.
From Lavers Hill it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the Otway Fly. This is the longest and tallest rainforest canopy walk in the world. Give yourself a good hour here even if you only opt to do the skywalk. In addition to the skywalk you can now attempt abseiling from great heights or even fly from tree station to tree station on the recently created flying fox. This is a real thrill!
While you are in this vicinity you should also visit Triplet Falls. These falls are on the same road as the Otway Fly and in my opinion are the most beautiful in all the Otways. This too is a reasonably easy walk - a little steep towards the end but not for long - and is a must if you have the time. There are other waterfalls in this area that are also worth a visit. They are just past the historic township of Beech Forest which incidentally is home to legendary runner Cliff Young. I should also add that the 12 Apostles are just down the road.
Customized and unforgettable cycling tours in AsiaAccommodation in this area is unique. You can choose to stay in or near Lavers Hill at Yuulong which is right on the Great Ocean Road. There is very good and new budget accommodation at the Lavers Hill Tavern. Just down the road you'll find Southern Heights B&B and Nellie Nook - a small farm house. Yuulong offers you the chance of farm accommodation at Wombalano or cottage accommodation at Seatree. Happy rural days!
Most tourists simply drive through Lavers Hill. They view the town as a pit stop for toilets and refreshments. Why not be a little bit different and stay the night? You won't regret it! Meals at the Lavers Hill Tavern are very good and the publican - Paul - is a blast! You will also find the Lavers Hill accommodation is both reasonable in price and high in quality.
